Victory for Gabby Chaves at the Florida Winter Tour

Ocala, Florida - Perhaps the most impressive driving display Saturday came in BTK Arrow Racing Karts Rotax Junior where Gabriel Chaves (Sodi) took the main event on a day that began in dead last.

Disqualified after qualifying for kart width, Chaves went right to work in the prefinal rather than stand around with his head down. Getting through turn one cleanly, the youngster from Weston, Florida was an incredible 16th after one lap having erased half the field.

The next tour brought three more positions, after which Chaves passed one kart per lap over the next six to reach seventh spot. He then edged his way to fifth before taking two more on the final lap to finish the prefinal behind only polesitter Nick Neri (Tony Kart) and point leader Jarvis Gennari (Tony Kart).

Then, after sliding into second at the start of the main and to the lead by lap three, Chaves never looked back in taking the win.
