Victory for Gabby Chaves on his first debut

Alton, Virginia – Virginia International Raceway - Victory for Gabby Chaves on his first debut at the Eastern and Midwestern opening series.

During the first race on Saturday, after the green flag, Gabby Chaves and Bobby Ellis quickly broke away from the starting pack and by lap 7 they had a 17 second lead over Connor Daily who was fighting for third position.

With four laps to go Ellis span out in turn 14 and Chaves did not have to battle for the lead anymore taking the victory with a comfortable 19 seconds lead over Daily in second place. The second race on Saturday was another great show put on by the drivers where we saw a constant lead change among five cars.

Gabby Chaves led 4 of 11 laps and had to settle for 4th place after being penalized 25 seconds for not going into pitts for a safety check.

On Sunday, Gabby gets another podium finishing second on the first race and seventh on the second race where an unfortunate incident with another car took the third place away on the finish line.

With these results Gabby is the leader on the Eastern regional series.
