Gabby Chaves wins again at Road America

09/30/2007

Road America, Wisconsin - What was perhaps one of the most difficult races so far in Gabby’s Skip Barber racing series  ends in a 0.040 of a second margin photo finish victory for the 14 year old youngster.

After finishing 2nd on Saturday’s race where he kept the lead most of the time, Gabby lost the race in the final lap after being drafted by the car behind him and had to settle for the second place, but this was not the case for the race on Sunday where again Gabby led 8 of the 10 laps race during 28 minutes and managed to take the checker flag first.

The fastest Championship guys this weekend were Craig Duerson, Gabby Chaves, Revere Greist, Conor Daly and Dion Von Moltke. Duerson won the first race, but fell prey to an MDNF in the second. Chaves led laps in the first race but in the end was less than a second behind Duerson. But he led all the way in race two where Revere Greist was in the hunt but was beaten to the line by Chaves by the smallest of margins.

With these first and second place finishes this weekend, Gabby achieves two victories and three second spots out of 6 races in this circuit at Road America for the year 2007.
