Peter Windsor: F1 Pit Lane Reporter, Speed TV Award-winning journalist (F1 Racing, Autosport Japan)
I first saw Gabby drive in Singapore, 2008 and was immediately very impressed by his rhythm and feel for the car and by his very competitive body language. I made a point of tracking him down after his race on Sunday and was astonished to find not only that he is so relatively young but also that he speaks perfect English, besides Spanish, and carries himself with the maturity and professionalism of a driver twice his age. He is undoubtedly an athlete of great promise and I look forward to watching his progress through the ranks over the next few years.
Colombia has several young drivers of which it can be proud; let's hope that the next Juan Pablo isn't too long in arriving and that drivers like Gabby are given every opportunity and assistance they deserve.

Emerson Fittipaldi: Two times Formula 1 world Champion, Indianapolis 500 Winner
The results Gabby has attained on the track in championships and in different tests and races that I have personally witnessed show that he possesses the attributes to conquer the steps to the grand racing classes of the world. Because of this and his charming personality is why I chose Gabby to be part of my racing team next to my grandson Pietro Fittipaldi.

DEREK DALY: Formula 1 official driver for the Williams team in 1982. Speed Channel F1 commentator and author of the book “Race To Win”
Gabby understands and applies race craft as good or better than any young driver that I have seen recently.

Dan Wheldon: Two times Indianapolis Racing League IRL Champion, 2005 Indianapolis 500 Winner
I met Gabby on an airplane going to the famous karting event “Race of the Stars” that Juan Pablo Montoya organizes every two years, in the beautiful city of Cartagena, Colombia. We became pals right away and when I saw him drive I was immediately impressed by his talent, with no doubt I think he has a brilliant future in racing and his results in racing show not different. I have also shared his company in a couple of races during my 2006 and 2007 IRL seasons where we have exchanged our personal racing attire.

Scott Speed: Formula 1 driver for the Red Bull Toro Rosso Team 2005/2006/2007
I had the pleasure to share time and dinner at Gabby’s house and I must say that he is a very special young man and much more special at the track where we both went at it. His awesome current results in the Formula Skip Barber Mazda 2000 and in all of his karting championships set him up for a nice racing career.

Oswaldo Negri: Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototype # 1 driver for Michael Shank Racing, Formula 3 South America Champion, Formula BMW-USA Coach Driver development, Formula Barber Dodge Pro Series test driver and Coach
I am one of the many fans "ADMIRADOR" that Gabby has. I have been racing since I was 9 years old in Brazil, won three times the Brazilian Go Kart title, won the Brazilian and South American F-3 Championship, I was third in the British F3 Championship, raced with guys like Rubens Barichello, Christian Fitipaldi, David Couthard, Mika Hakkinnen and others, so I know how to recognize a talent when I see one. I saw Gabby for the first time at the Florida Winter Tour and I was immediately impressed with his natural speed, precision and race craft. I import the Kart Mini chassis from Brazil and asked Gaby to race with one of our chassis. Gaby won almost every race he has done with it.
I can spend hours writing about Gaby, but I will go as far as saying that he is one of the best Go Kart drivers I have seen, and I have good guys to compare him with, I was Senna's Team Mate in Brazil. My eye for talent has not showed me different, with his current results and performance in the Formula Skip Barber...F1 Material.

Sebastien Bourdaix: Two times and current leader in Champ Car World Series and the 2008 official driver for the Formula 1 Toro Rosso Team
During the 2007 Cleveland Grand Prix I was surprised by a young driver who was the show of the weekend in one of the supporting classes of the main event (Formula Skip Barber Nationals) here, I saw a driver with amazing talent and racing craft not knowing that he was only 13 years old. Later on we met personally at the airport and his personality is another big plus for what I believe a great racing career future.

Peter Argetsinger: A well known and recognized expert in motorsports racing with over 30 years experience in coaching and guiding drivers in Europe and USA like Damon Hill (former formula 1 world champion) and Juan Pablo Montoya among many others, long time Skip Barber instructor and now head coach and driver development for the BMW-USA race series
I have had the pleasure to work with Gabby in person twice this year (2007) and all I have to say is that he has everything that it takes to be a world champ! “He is Simply Formula 1 paste.”
|
Milka Duno: Daytona Prototype driver and now Formula Indy IRL official driver for the Citgo-Samax-Pontiac Team
Watching Gabby on the race track is very delightful, his car control, precision and natural speed at his young age is simply amazing and with the results that he has obtained during his racing career it just shows what an extraordinary future is waiting for him.

Don Kutschall, Instructor and coach, Skip Barber Racing School
Over the past few weeks, as a racing school instructor and race coach with Skip Barber racing school, I have had the pleasure of working with Gabby Chaves. I have worked with him in a 3 Day Racing School, a 2 Day Advanced Racing School and during his first ever race weekend with us. Gabriel is a most personable young man and precocious race driver. He is a very coachable driver who is not only eager to learn but also is able to readably apply the feedback he is given. All the coaches and I have been highly impressed with his maturity, race craft, and steep progress he has shown during these few weeks. We treat him as a very talented race driver, not as a 13 year old teenager, and he responds in kind.
Having had the opportunity of working with young drivers such as Scott Speed, AJ Allmendeinger, and Marco Andretti, to name a few, I find that Gabby has the aptitude and motivation to follow in their tire-tracks and perhaps one day have them follow in his.

Jonatan Jorge: Formula Skip Barber Instructor, 2002 formula 2000 SB Rookie of the year, team mate in the British Formula 3 of Scott Speed and Lewis Hamilton and with out a doubt one of the best Go Kart drivers in the USA
Gabby is one of those drivers that appears every other decade with a great sense of control, speed, and natural talent. In no time he has become one of the best surprises in motorsports and his recent results say it all.

Gizelle D’ Cole: Latin television, Telemundo channel host
I have heard some good rumors about Gabby and when I new he was racing near by I went to see him with a mutual friend and everything about him was fascinating, especially his charmed personality, very mature for his age and off course, an awesome driver. Soon he will be the special guest of my TV show.

Juan Carlos Maimone: CNN Commentator and President of the Hispanic Automobile Media Organization, 1987 Best Motorsport Writer for the currently CEO Info Auto and CNN en Espanol motorsports commentator
Gabby is poised to be the next driver to break through to the mainstream in motorsports. His multifaceted driving talent and cold mind makes the difference over other drivers of his age and in most cases above his age. With only 13 years of age he has won almost everything and his future in motor racing is just fabulous.
